Job Qualifications for Security/Concierge Officers


  • Control access to establishments, issue passes, and direct visitors
  • Patrol assigned areas, on foot or in vehicles, to guard against theft, shoplifting, vandalism, unapproved guests, and fire
  • Enforce regulations at public events and within establishments, locations, or specific geographic areas to maintain order
  • Operate security control room equipment to monitor establishment activates
  • Perform on-site security checks of visitors and guests
  • Ensure that establishment safety and emergency procedures are followed
  • Respond to alarms and other emergencies


  • Some post secondary education is required.
  • Training in police foundation is an asset.
  • CPR/Standard First Aid is an asset

    • Excellent communication skills are required.
    • Computer and keyboarding skills are an asset.
    • Computer skills is and asset


  • Costumer service experience is required
  • Security industry experience is an asset


  • Security license is an asset (however, a license must be obtained prior to assignment).
  • Must possess a valid Ontario driver's license.
